Position Title: Senior Employment Specialist
Supervisor: Refugee Services Coordinator
Status: Full-time, hourly.

Journey’s End Refugee Services, Inc. is a refugee resettlement and immigration services provider for the Western New York Region. Journey’s End works to assist newly arriving refugees to find gainful employment and avoid dependency on social services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Act as initial contact for new employers recruited to hire refugee clients.
- Network and navigate WNY employers to recruit them to hire refugee clients served by the agency employment programs.
- Coordinate and guide employment staff in finding and outreaching to WNY employers.
- Transition potential employers to work with employment team in the placement and training of refugees into the work force.
- Break down and overcome the perceived barriers and challenges faced by newly arriving refugees seeking employment.
- Review weekly job development reports.
- Assist in targeting specific employers to hire refugee clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in business or equivalent degree in a related field.
- Two to four years experience working in the employment or human resource fields.
- Ability to think outside of the box and see the big picture, while resolving day to day challenges. A positive and energetic attitude a must.
- Past sales experience a benefit.
- Experience interpreting and instituting program guidelines.
- Experience providing direct services.
- A passion for resolving challenging problems and thinking outside of the box.
- License to drive and an insured vehicle.
The ideal candidate for this position will need to be comfortable at evaluating and finding new and engaging ways to meet client employment needs.
This is a full time, hourly non-exempt position. Wage range is $27,000 - $32,000 annually, with benefits. Wage is negotiable. Candidate must be able to work evening and weekends as needed.
Start date is immediate.
