Journey’s End Refugee Services, Inc. is a refugee resettlement and immigration services provider for the Western New York Region. Journey’s End works to assist newly arriving refugees to find gainful employment and avoid dependency on social services.
Supervisor: Director of Grants & Data
Status: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt-professional starting at $15 per hour
Job Description:
The Grants & Data Manager is a critical role in a primarily grant funded organization. Under the supervision of the Director of Grants & Data, the Grants & Data Manager has four major responsibilities: First, s/he oversees the program budgets, financial and program reporting, and data tracking for grants received. Second, s/he works closely with program staff and senior leaders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and private grants and contracts. Third, s/he assists the grants department with writing grant applications and managing new funding. Fourth s/he serves as a liaison between Journey’s End staff and the managed IT service provider.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain program data collection, tracking, internal and external reporting.
Develop and provide guidance, tools and resources for staff and partner agencies on grants administration, regulations, and policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance on a number of federal/state/local grants; this demands close collaboration with department and program staff and taking a principal role on an array of reporting requirements.
Serve as liaison between funders and program staff.
Comply in a timely manner with funder requests for information.
Review grant reports and communications with funders and stakeholders for accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
Establish policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state grant regulations and requirements.
Serve as an institutional resource on grant compliance, participate in the review of new funding opportunities, and provide feedback on institutional eligibility.
Provide support in preparing Requests for Proposals (RFP) and writing and submitting grant applications.
Serve as liaison between staff and managed IT services company.
Additional responsibilities as specified by the Director of Grants & Data, Director of Finance, Executive Director and other senior level management.
Qualifications:
The Grants & Data Manager must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Must be a proactive, trustworthy and dependable individual.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with publicly or privately grant-funded programs is highly desired.
Experience creating and tracking program budgets and grant writing.
Capacity to frame complex situations and present options.
