Journey’s End Refugee Services Welcomes New Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of Journey’s End Refugee Services is excited to announce our new Chief Executive Officer, Pamela Bos Kefi. Bos Kefi begins at a time when ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality services to our clients is paramount.

“It is an incredible honor to support the work of Journey’s End. I have always been impressed with the organization, and to join their team and support their mission is a privilege,” said Pamela Bos Kefi, Chief Executive Officer at Journey’s End Refugee Service.

Journey’s End Refugee Services is on track to resettle the highest number of refugees in a single year in the agency’s history in response to growing unrest around the world. In addition to Refugee Resettlement, Journey’s End leads our community in Immigration Legal Services while supporting integration with Employment Services, Education Services, Interpreting and Translation Services and more. Considering the breadth of programming, Bos Kefi’s experience is invaluable with over 25 years in human services including more than 15 years working with refugees and immigrants in Buffalo. She was instrumental in adding services for refugees who are Deaf as Executive Director for Deaf Access Services. She has developed programs for battered immigrant women and human trafficking victim services as the Executive Director at the International Institute of Buffalo, and she helped to create services for survivors of torture while working with Jewish Family Services to name just a few.

Bos Kefi appreciates what it is like to build a life in a new place. Her cross-cultural career started as a PeaceCorps volunteer in Tunisia and included working at the U.S. Embassy to address education reform with the Haitian Ministry of Education. You will likely see Pam use her conversational skills in French, Tunisian Arabic and American Sign Language to connect throughout the refugee community.

The Board of Directors conducted a thorough, inclusive and equitable search with the help of TalentRise. Arlene Kaukus, Board Chair, is confident in the future under the leadership of Bos Kefi. Kaukus said, “While our candidate pool was very strong, it became apparent that Bos Kefi demonstrated her commitment to the Mission as well as demonstrated leadership experience to guide Journey’s End Refugee Services forward.”
